Created in 1984 with the sponsorship of San Telmo Foundation,  and from 1989 until 1992 with that of the Banco de Galicia y Buenos Aires, the Trio is one of the most prominent Argentine chamber music groups of international prestige. Its members, all three musicians with extensive individual experience as solists and chamber players, have probed deeply into the classical and contemporary works in their ample repertoire. They have also offered first auditions of specially commissioned  works by argentine composers.

The San Telmo Trio has performed  for the principal musical organizations of Buenos Aires, such as the Colón Theater, the

Argentine Mozarteum and the Buenos Aires Music Festivals,  with the leading argentine orchestras (National Symphony, Buenos Aires Philharmonic, Mayo Chamber Orchestra, “San Isidro” Symphony,  Bahía Blanca, Córdoba, Mendoza, Tucumán and Entre Ríos Symphony Orchestras), in national music festivals (Bariloche Musical Spring, Salta Cultural April, Mendoza Chamber Music Festival,  Bariloche Musical Camp, Llao Llao Music Week, Rosario Bach Festival) and in the most prominent music centres of its country .

With grants from the San Telmo Foundation, the Antorchas Foundation and the Colón Foundation, this ensemble attended chamber music master classes with Norbert Brainin (Amadeus Quartet) during the Barga International Festival (Italy) and with Menahem Pressler (Beaux Arts Trio) at the Bariloche Music Camp (Argentina) and the Banff Centre School of Fine Arts (Canada).

It has also successfully toured Europe (Spain, Italy, France, Austria,  Germany, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Czechoslovakia, Denmark and Poland),  Latin America (Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, Venezuela, Ecuador, Colombia), various regions of the ex Soviet Union  and the United States (Carnegie Recital Hall, New York and Library of Congress, Washington).

The San Telmo Trio was invited to participate in numerous International Festivals:  Piccolo Spoleto Festival (South Carolina, USA), Chamber Music Festival (Salzburg, Austria), Banff Festival of the Arts (Canada), Roca de Santo Domingo (Chile) Festival Internationale Musique Espèrance (Bergérac, France) and the XXX International Cervantine Festival (México).

It has recorded for the Radios in Copenhagen, Madrid and Luxembourg  (with the Radio-Tele Luxembourg Orchestra directed by Leopold Hager); in Argentina,  for IRCO, Spacio and Radio Clásica.

In 1999 it was awarded the Merit Diploma by the Konex Foundation.
